Curly hair is difficult to manage and cutting it can sometimes worsen the situation. Here’s how to enhance them with the right cut
When you decide to cut your hair, a thousand doubts arise, even more if our hair is curly and rebellious. If we want to change our look and improve the appearance of our curls, but we fear the boomerang effect, there are some golden rules that must be absolutely respected!
Better an even or scaled cut?
To make the most of a curly hair, it is better to choose a scaled cut. With an even cut you could have an aesthetically not beautiful result and the curls could be too heavy and therefore not very defined. It is important, however, that the type of scaling is specifically designed for this type of hair and that it is harmonious with the shape of the face.
The goal is to have a lightened and rebalanced hair and a lighter and therefore more defined curl. Avoid too incisive scalings that may not be harmonious and give excessive volume to the hair and focus on cuts that enhance curly hair.
Do not brush hair dry
This operation should never be done because it makes our hair frizzy and risks ruining it. Curly hair must be untangled in the shower with your hands or at most with the help of a wide-toothed wooden brush. In this way we will eliminate the knots but without consequences.
Do not remove excess water by rubbing the towel
In this way we mess up the curls and after drying we will surely get a frizzy and messy effect. Curly hair should be dabbed gently using a microfibre cloth which, by absorbing less water, helps to slow drying times by reducing frizz.
Use the right styling products
For curly hair, nourishing masks are very useful, hydrating the hair, making it shiny and decidedly more disciplined. The use of the conditioner at each wash is fundamental. There are many variations, better to opt for those that have more exposure time because they nourish the hair more deeply.
On curly hair, styling products should be applied when they are still very wet. There are very different formulations and textures, because each hedgehog is different from the other. For soft curls, it is better to opt for light textures such as sprays or mousses, while for more full-bodied or afro curls, it is necessary to resort to denser products such as creams.
A good habit is the daily application of oils on the tips and lengths to help keep them hydrated and disciplined and avoid frizz.

The use of the diffuser is used to dry the hair without undoing the curls. The ideal is to dry your hair upside down, in order to give volume to the root for a more attractive look.
Don’t straighten your hair too often
If we want to straighten our curly hair, the use of a simple hairdryer and brush may not be enough. The plate, if used in excess and with very high heat, can damage the hair, dehydrate it and then make it dull, dull and inevitably frizzy. These tools should be used as little as possible and only after applying a thermo-protector.
