Masks for oily hair

1- Bicarbonate mask, lemon and aloe vera
Baking soda is an ally for oily hair, as it is a sebum-regulator, useful in case of itching and discomfort. In addition, this mask is effective in both dermatitis and dandruff. Lemon is effective because it has disinfectant and degreasing properties, while aloe vera has healing, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Prepare the mask, start putting lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel in a small bowl. Mix well, add a little hot water, you will need to obtain a pasty consistency, apply to the hair, then wrap it with cling film or a shower cap, leave for 20 minutes. Wash your hair normally using the always gentle shampoo for oily hair.
2- Nettle mask and black tea
Nettle is a herbaceous plant, which has the same value as bicarbonate, an ally to combat sebum and hair with dandruff. Black tea, on the other hand, contains an astringent substance known as “tannic acid” which prevents sebum and allows the pores to close properly. To these ingredients must be added tea tree oil, a concentrated essential oil that purifies the hair follicles, reducing not only dandruff, but also the formation of sebum.
Prepare the mask by boiling a cup of chopped nettle leaves with 1 sachet of black tea, let it cool, then add 2 tablespoons of baking soda and 4 drops of tea tree oil. Mix well and apply all over the hair and leave on for about 20 minutes, then wash well with a specific shampoo.
3- Intensive mask with green clay and corn starch
Green clay helps the hair to improve the appearance of oily hair, thanks to its disinfectant and purifying properties. Corn starch, on the other hand, has an absorbent power, apple vinegar must also be added to the mask to rebalance the natural pH of the scalp.
Prepare the mask by placing 2 spoons of green clay, 1 of corn starch, 1 of apple cider vinegar and 5 drops of thyme essential oil in a saucepan. The latter has an astringent and vasoconstrictor action. Heat everything, then add hot water until the mixture is pasty, then apply on the roots, lengths and ends and cover with a shower cap and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse your hair well and then proceed with a specific shampoo.
Masks for brittle hair
Dry and brittle hair affects many women, especially those who subject their hair to strong stress. The high temperatures of the hair dryer, plates, dyes and discolorations further weaken the hair, so you can resort to specific masks to do at home.
1- Castor oil, honey and shea butter mask
Castor oil is an oil that reinforces and deeply nourishes damaged hair, while shea butter and honey nourish, moisturize and regenerate the hair.
Prepare the mask, heat 1 tablespoon of shea butter in a water bath, so that it will be softer. Transfer to a bowl with 3 tablespoons of castor oil and 2 of honey and mix well, until you get a creamy and homogeneous mixture. If it is too thick, you can add a little warm water, then spread over the hair, and massage gently with your fingertips. This promotes microcirculation and the ingredients penetrate deeply. Then cover your hair with a cap or plastic wrap, leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash your hair with a specific product for brittle hair but without aggressive agents.
2- Henna and banana mask
This mask is prepared with henna, banana and olive oil, known for its emollient and moisturizing properties. The banana instead nourishes thanks to vitamins and minerals and neutral henna improves the structure of the hair, starting from the root. This avoids the formation of split ends, giving shine to the hair.
Prepare the mask by placing the hot water and 100 g of neutral henna powder in a bowl. Work well until a creamy paste is obtained, then reduce the banana to pulp and add it to the mixture. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and work, apply to the hair and massage gently, leave for about an hour then cover with a cap or plastic wrap. After the time, proceed with the shampoo, using a restructuring.
