When we are at the seaside or on the beach, the last thing we would like to worry about is fixing our hair all the time to prevent it from falling out in front of our eyes or from being ruffled and ruined by the wind.
Braids are an excellent solution, as they allow you to keep a large amount of hair at bay using only one elastic headband: it must be borne in mind that it is not a good idea to use too many elastics, clips and barrettes with wet hair, because it will be a lot the higher the risk of them breaking or getting entangled.
The advice is not to create too tight braids when preparing an anti-hot hairstyle for the sea, because in this way you risk discovering the scalp excessively and burns on the head are just around the corner!
How is the Diletta Leotta braid done? It can be done in two ways, French or German, but the principle is always the same.
In the French version the side locks will be passed above the central one, while in the German version the side locks will be intertwined passing under the central one.
To start creating this hairstyle you must first decide from what height you want to start the braid. If you wear the side parting, the ideal is to start from it to start braiding your hair into a very simple three-strand braid created from very small locks taken from the superficial part of the hair.
As you continue to braid your hair you will have to add other small locks of hair to the side locks, which will simply be added to those already braided.
It follows that the braid will become thicker as it descends towards the ear.
To finish the braid, you have two options: either fix it behind the ear with two hairpins strung X or leave it free as Diletta did, gathering it at the end with a simple elastic.
A nice idea could be to make a simple three-strand braid using the hair on the other side of the part, that is, those that have remained free from the hairstyle. Once the braid is finished, this too will be fixed on the nape with the hairpins: in this way you will have created a “broken circle” that follows the line of the hair because it “incorporates” the line inside.
Did it seem too complicated? Do not worry: there is the version for super beginners with very long hair. the result will be slightly different, but so simple that it can be done in five minutes.
To ensure that the braids adhere perfectly to the head, the advice is to ask someone to braid them for us upwards and not downwards, so that, by folding the braid, there is no thickness behind the ears that could make them appear “waving” if you have chosen to make braids a little thicker.
Also in this case the braids will be stopped with two pairs of hairpins placed in an X shape, but the advice is to always use a microelastic to hold them together before fixing them.
